One Year Limited Warranty:
All systems are built using new parts(unless otherwise stated). Service (labor) on all parts is warranted through Techno Geeks for the length of one year, after the item(s) have been received by our client. Afterward, the manufacturer’s warranty is in effect for the length of the remaining warranty timeframe, if any. If any device should fail within the first one year timeframe, a representative of Techno Geeks will travel to the location of the inoperative hardware* and troubleshoot at no charge to the client**. If an external item (i.e. monitor, modem, mouse, keyboard, joystick, etc.) is defective, inside of this one year period, return it to Techno Geeks for another of the same type, or closest current available on the electronic market, for a replacement unit at no cost to you, less any shipping & handling and insurance. A replacement unit will be provided to you, at no cost, unless any technical support is required for reintegration to the system(s). If the one year warranty has passed, and an internal item, (i.e. video\SCSI controller\sound\etc. card) requires servicing Techno Geeks will travel to the location of the device and troubleshoot the item for possible replacement* for the remainder of the manufacturer’s warranty ( if any ) plus the standard hourly billable rate, if applicable. Make certain to contact a representative of Techno Geeks before shipping any items to Techno Geeks for the purpose of replacement\repair.
Manufacturer’s Warranty:
All items are warranted through the manufacturer for the full length of the manufacturers stated warranty.
Restocking Fee:
There are no restocking fees, or penalties for returned items when it can be ascertained that the item is:
a) Undamaged
b) New in original packaging
or
c) If damaged, can be verified damage was not caused, either directly or indirectly, by end user
Technical Support:
Technical support is offered for any item purchased through Techno Geeks for one year from the date the item(s) are received, but only if the item(s) were installed by Techno Geeks. If, in that time frame, you experience difficulty with your item(s), you may obtain Technical Support by e-mail, We will attempt to respond to all e-Mails within 24-36 business hours. Or, if you would prefer to speak to a person, directly, you may contact Technical Support at 724-837-7566. Make certain to have a concise understanding of the problem, as well as how and when it occurs. If the item(s) were not installed by Techno Geeks, all warranty work and technical support will be afforded by the manufacturer of the item(s) at the manufacturers discretion. Any work on a system, or item, that falls outside of the one year period of warranty is subject to a possible charge of hourly labor, depending on the item and type of problem**.
Disclaimer of Damage:
Techno Geeks is not responsible for any damage which might arise out of the use, or misuse, of any product purchased from us. Any product(s) received damaged, must be reported to the carrier (i.e. UPS, Federal Express, US Postal Service, etc.) immediately. All merchandise is shipped in packaging that is more than sufficient for transport of said item(s) from the point of origin to the point of destination. If any special packaging, or arrangements, are to be made, you must notify a representative of Techno Geeks when placing your initial order. It is recommended that you, at the very least, peruse the owner\operator manuals of your product(s) before attempting operation.
Data Loss:
It is the responsibility of the end user to back-up all data on any data storage device or media. Techno Geeks is in no way responsible for any data loss which might occur with any systems, or pieces of hardware, purchased from us. Systems submitted to us for technical support\upgrading\troubleshooting should have all data backed up before being left in our care. Techno Geeks is in no way responsible for any data loss which may, or may not, occur when diagnosing\correcting computer maladies whether the system is in our care or onsite.
Backup your data! Hardware can always be replaced. Data cannot.
Hardware Protection:
It is imperative that all hardware have some form of surge suppression between the computer and the wall outlet. We recommend the APC (American Power Conversion) line-up of surge suppressors. If you are using a modem, we recommend spending a few extra dollars for a surge suppressor with phone line protection. We can, in no way, be held responsible for acts of God or for any lack of protection, or failure of the client to provide adequate protection, on any hardware purchased from us.
A UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) will add the security of surge suppression with the peace of mind of true power backup. In the event of a power brown-out, or black-out, your system can keep running from 6-30 minutes, allowing you enough time to finish your work, close out your application and shut down your system properly. Regardless of which option you decide to go with, PROTECT YOUR HARDWARE! And remember, these are only surge suppressors, not protectors. Nothing protects 100% of the hardware 100% of the time. Unplug your modem and PC during a storm.
It is the responsibility of the client\user to provide adequate voltage protection for their computer(s) and computing peripherals.
Software Warranty:
All systems are delivered and professionally setup, onsite*, by an experienced technician from Techno Geeks-PC. If installed on a network, the computer(s) will be configured to interface with said network and we will verify that all is working properly before leaving. However, since it only takes a single failed or aborted installation to corrupt or damage any aspect of your Operating System, or one of its many components, we cannot guarantee the integrity of the software, or Operating System, once it leaves our hands and is left in the clients. If any trouble(s) are experienced with a system, we will gladly make a support call* for the length of one year from the date of system implementation to correct any problem(s). If, however, it is ascertained that the problem arises from a software related issue, the regular hourly billable rate will apply plus any expenses incurred as a result, including but not limited to:
